Governance
ElectricAid is a registered charity and operates under a governance framework that ensures transparency, accountability, and full compliance with Irish charity law and the Charities Regulator code of compliance. At the center of this framework is the Board of Trustees, which serves as the primary stewards of the organisation.
The Board of Trustees provides strategic oversight, ensures regulatory compliance, and upholds the charity’s mission and values. In line with the Charities Act 2009 and the Charities (Amendment) Act 2024, the Board is responsible for ensuring that ElectricAid meets all statutory obligations, including financial reporting, ethical governance, and the proper use of charitable funds.

Best Practice Governance
ElectricAid’s governance model reflects best practice in the sector, with clear separation between oversight and execution. The charity maintains detailed financial records, submits annual reports, and adheres to the enhanced trustee duties and transparency standards introduced in the 2024 Amendment Act. This includes ensuring that trustees are fully informed of their responsibilities, avoid conflicts of interest, and always acting in the best interests of the charity.
By embedding these legal and ethical standards into its governance, ElectricAid continues to deliver high-impact development and relief work - with integrity, accountability, and the trust of its members.
